Day 1 & 2
International flights from New Zealand to Paris.


Day 2 Paris
Afternoon Seine River Cruise. Cruise up the majestic Seine and discover the sights of Paris from a new perspective. From the water it is possible to see the bridges and monuments of Paris as you could never hope to from land. This hour-long river cruise delivers spectacular and hidden views of this magnificent city. An informative historical and cultural commentary is available. The main Bateaux Parisiens pier is located close to the Eiffel Tower which you will also visit today.


Day 3 Paris
Full day sightseeing in Paris.


Day 4 Paris
Guided tour of Versailles Palace. Versailles Palace is the largest Palace in Europe built by the King Louis XIV. Today Versailles is a unique place to witness what was the opulence and abundance of luxury in which the Kings of France used to live. Spend the day appreciating the beauty of the palace and through its magnificent gardens dotted with spectacular fountains.
Visit Giverny in the Upper Normandy region of northern France. It’s known as the place where painter Claude Monet lived and worked from 1883 until his death in 1926. The artist’s former home and elaborate gardens, where he produced his famed water lily series, are now the Fondation Claude Monet museum. Nearby, the Musée des impressionnismes Giverny highlights the Impressionist art movement.


Day 5 Rouen
Transfer to Rouen. On arrival you will be met by your host family and transferred to your accommodation.


Day 6 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.


Rouen orientation tour. Rouen was one of the most important commercial centers of Europe due to its location on the Seine, where it controlled shipping to Paris, and due to its industrious weavers who converted English wool to fabrics sold throughout Europe. Rouen is loaded with architectural treasures from its Mediaeval and Renaissance past as well as twelve open-air markets selling everything from locally produced food to clothing and bric-a-brac


Day 7 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.


Visit Chateau de Martainville. The castle was built in 1485 for Jacques Le Pelletier, owner and Rouen merchant and lord of Martainville. It is a fine example of the architecture of the early Renaissance in Normandy, and is still surrounded by its annexes : dovecote charreterie, stables, bread oven, closed well.


Day 8 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.


Visit a local Lycee.


Day 9 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.


Visit Musee de la ferronnerie. The museum presents a unique collection of art from iron gates, signs, door knockers, keys and locks, safes, jewellery, kitchen utensils, sewing, smoking, professional tools... made since Antiquity up to today.


Day 10 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.


This afternoon you have free time.


Day 11 Mont St Michel
A magical island topped by a gravity-defying medieval monastery, the Mont-Saint-Michel counts among France’s most stunning sights. For centuries one of Europe’s major pilgrimage destinations, this holy mount is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is its breathtaking bay.


Day 12 Rouen
Today you will have free time with your host family.


Day 13 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.

Day 14 Rouen
Attend language school for group lessons.


Visit Musee des Beaux Arts. The renowned Fine Arts Museum of Rouen was established by Napoleon I but the present building dates back to the end of the 19th century and was entirely restored in 1994. It is one of the richest and most visited Fine Arts Museums in France outside of Paris.


Day 15 Paris
Transfer to Paris to explore the Louvre while listening to informative commentary by curators and lecturers using the audioguide.The Louvre offers a number of thematic trails designed to give you an overview of the scope and richness of the museum’s collections. Each trail is based on a selection of works that typify a period, an artistic movement, or a theme. You will be provided with information about your chosen trail prior to departure.


Day 16 Paris
Visit the Centre Pompidou. Using the audioguide you will explore the magnificent buildings. More than 60,000 works constitute the largest collection in Europe of modern and contemporary art. It covers 20th and 21st century artists whose artworks had major influence in recent years.


You will then be transferred to the airport for your return flights home.
