Day 1 - Melbourne
Depart Auckland today flying with Qantas Airways directly to Melbourne. Upon arrival in Melbourne you will meet your coach and transfer from the airport to your accommodation.

Today you will have time familiarize yourself with the city and area you are staying in before heading off on a guided walking tour, focusing on Melbourne’s famous art scene. From small laneway galleries displaying local and international artists showcasing works from the contemporary to the extraordinary to impressive public/private art works. Students will also learn about Melbourne’s exciting street art culture that has gained an international reputation and see some fabulous examples of this cutting edge art.
Day 2 - Melbourne
Breakfast at your hostel this morning. This morning you will make your own way to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) where you will have time to explore on your own. Depending on exhibitions and experiences available you may enjoy a workshop (cost not included).
Entrance into the Gallery is free with a charge for some of the exhibitions. Afterwards you will make your way to the Melbourne Skydeck where you will take a self-guided tour. Explore the Skydeck at your own pace and enjoy the 360 degree views of Melbourne, utilise the many view finders, interactive displays and the outdoor terrace to identify key landmarks around Melbourne.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Southbank.
Day 3 - Melbourne
Breakfast at your hostel this morning. After breakfast you will make your way back over to Southbank and visit the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) where you will be taken on a guided tour of the exhibition(s) available at the time.
This afternoon you will enjoy a leisurely river cruise along the Yarra River taking in all the sights and sounds of the city. Duration of the cruise is approximately 1 – ½ hours. River cruise cost included.
Day 4 - Melbourne
Breakfast at your hostel this morning. Today will be at leisure to explore the city – you may like to visit St Paul’s Cathedral, constructed between 1880 and 1931, the ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) which highlights all aspects of cinematography or spend some time in Federation Square.
You could also visit the famous Queen Victoria Market with its many shops and stalls to include food, clothing and souvenirs.

Day 5 - Sydney
Breakfast at your hostel this morning. After breakfast transfer from your hostel to Melbourne Domestic terminal for your short flight to Sydney. Upon arrival in Sydney you will be met and transferred to your accommodation.

This afternoon you will take the short walk from the hostel to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) located in the Rocks. Once at the museum you will split into two smaller groups and enjoy a self-guided tour – duration of the tours can be either one or two hours (Thursdays & Fridays only). The self-guided tours are free of charge.
Day 6 - Sydney
Breakfast at your hostel this morning. This morning you will be collected from the hostel and transfer to the grounds of Sydney University in Camperdown. When you arrive on campus, you will be taken on a tour of the Sydney College of the Arts. You may also be able to explore the gallery (exhibition dependent) and visit the Chau Chak Wing Museum.
Afterwards you will transfer to the Art Gallery of NSW where you will enjoy one of the many workshops on offer (duration 1 ½ hours). At the end of the workshop you will have some time to explore the gallery on your own before making your own way back to your hostel. Cost of workshop included in tour cost.
It is a leisurely walk from the Gallery to the hostel – the Royal Botanic Garden is located not far from the Gallery so you could walk via the Gardens down towards Government House and Sydney Opera House and along Circular Quay.
Day 7 - Sydney
Breakfast at your hostel this morning. Today is a day at leisure for some local sightseeing.
You may like to take the ferry from Circular Quay across the harbour to Manly or take the ferry from Circular Quay across to Taronga Zoo and spend the day exploring the Zoo and its many encounters.
Another option is to download the Sydney Culture Walks App and follow one of the many walks around the city, following the different public art displays from murals to street art.
Day 8 - Sydney
Breakfast at your hostel this morning.
After breakfast, you will check out of your rooms and, depending on flight schedules, will have some time at leisure for last minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping before transferring to Sydney International Airport for your flight back home.
